Ice Detection/Avoidance on Navis

Ice detection and avoidance software is now available for all Sea-Bird Navis Autonomous floats. The software predicts the presence of surface sea ice and commands the floats to take evasive action if needed.

Developed and tested in the Southern Ocean, with the guidance of the Sea-Bird science team the software can be tuned for a range of under-ice applications.
