Bioluminescence Assessment Tool (UBAT)

WET Labs' UBAT is designed to measure mechanically stimulated bioluminescence in both coastal and oceanic systems from 0–600 m in depth.

UBAT Features

  • Provides calibrated, high-resolution (60 Hz signal and 1 Hz average) measurement of mechanically stimulated bioluminescence for assessing water column ecosystem dynamics.
  • Field calibration light source is used to track sensor drift.
  • Modular design for easy cleaning.

Bioluminescence, in conjunction with other IOPs, can provide a more complete picture of spatial and temporal variability of the biogeochemical complexity of coastal and ocean ecosystems, especially the response of the planktonic community, to environmental fluctuations.

What should I use to lubricate bulkhead connectors?

We recommend keeping the connectors on your meter lubricated using a good quality silicone spray lubricant, such as 3M Silicone Spray or Loctite 8021 spray. These can be purchased at your local hardware store. Avoid silicone grease. It is messy and attracts contaminants.

Do not use WD-40. It will destroy connectors.
