Sea-Bird is seeking an HR Manager to be
the HR site leader for the corporate headquarters facility in Bellevue,
WA supporting the senior leadership team and all company associates in
Manufacturing, Service, R&D Engineering, Science, Sales, Customer
Contact, Marketing, and Finance. This position reports directly to the
company President, with dotted line reporting to the HR Director of Hach
Environmental (who is based in Colorado).
The HR Manager will partner with business
leaders and associates to deliver exceptional HR services in a proactive
and solution oriented manner, while aligning with the business strategy
of the organization.
- Recruitment
Drive the recruitment
process. Duties include identification of staffing needs,
interviewing, making offers, performing background checks,
facilitating relocation, and on-boarding of new hires.
- Employee Relations
Apply conflict management
skills to facilitate resolution when associate-to-associate or
manager-to-associate conflict arises. Investigate (interview, gather
evidence, consult legal) allegations of employee misconduct
including harassment, discrimination, etc. Guide management on
disciplinary and termination procedures.
- Compliance, Policies, &
Procedures
Ensure legal compliance;
including, but not limited to, EEOC and AA regulations. Act as
liaison to governmental compliance agencies as required. Ensure
consistent application of policies/procedures, including recruiting,
training, reward & recognition, associate development, etc.
- Performance Management
Drive the Performance
Management process. Work with managers and associates to identify
and address performance related issues. Provide coaching and support
to managers on corrective action items, including performance
improvement plans and discipline issues
- Talent Development
Support the talent
development process. Consult with and train management to create
associate development and succession plans to improve bench strength
and achieve talent objectives.
- Organizational Diagnostics &
Development
Understand and analyze
organizational capabilities, proactively develop and implement
organizational design, and structure improvements to support
delivery of the business strategy.
- Compensation
Manage compensation programs
including annual merit review and incentive programs. Ensure proper
system administration of compensation process and records (e.g.,
grade changes, promotions, salary changes, etc). Maintain job
descriptions and assist managers in writing job descriptions.
- Benefits
Support new enrollments and
changes. Act as liaison between corporate benefits, TPAs, and
associates. Support corporate processes such as open enrollment,
wellness initiatives, LOAs, discrimination testing, and census
reporting.
- Reporting
Write, change, and distribute
reports to HR Director and other company leaders as required.
- General Support
Enter employee data in HR
systems. Create and maintain associate files ensuring legal
compliance. Coordinate company activities and events. Perform timely
exit interviews and record data to be analyzed for retention
purposes. Coordinate unemployment responses. Backup Payroll
administrator.
Education, Background, and Skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required and
Professional HR certification preferred.
- 8+ years experience of HR support
and leadership in a high growth, changing environment with a solid
track record of successfully implementing and managing HR programs
and initiatives.
- Excellent writing and grammar
skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft
Office Suite).

Summary Description
We are seeking a highly motivated
individual with mechanical aptitude to inspect complex machined parts.
The successful candidate must be detail oriented, a self-starter,
possess strong problem-solving and time management skills, and enjoy
interfacing with others. This position reports directly to the
Production Engineering Manager and is accountable for the following:
Essential Functions:

Read and understand engineering drawings used to inspect machined
parts.

Receive
all incoming parts in MRP software system.
-
Inspect
parts using various precision inspection tools (i.e., calipers, pin
gages, etc.).

Document non-conforming parts.
-
Communicate parts inspection results as needed to appropriate
personnel.

Stock
parts and maintain inventory.
-
Create
inventory locations for inspected parts as needed.
-
Prepare
parts for additional vendor processing.
Qualification Requirements
The candidate must possess the following
knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- 2-4 years experience measuring and
inspecting parts, or related experience.
- Possess a high level of mechanical
aptitude.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Suite.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written
communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with
coworkers, vendors, and other office staff.
- Work an eight (8) hour shift and
able to work overtime when required to meet deadlines.
- History of good employment
attendance and punctuality.
